Panasonic Acquires Nevada Bell Building in Reno’s Largest Single-Company Office Lease


RENO, Nevada (Panasonic from North America) – Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA), a division of Panasonic Corporation of North America, today announced plans to expand into northern Nevada with a new campus in Reno slated to open in spring 2022 .

The existing 94,483 square foot building at 645 East Plumb Lane managed by Industrial Realty Group, LLC (IRG) in Reno is being renovated to become the headquarters of the PENA division and will include state-of-the-art engineering labs, facilities recruitment and training of employees; and other support functions.

The announcement comes seven years after Osaka, Japan-based Panasonic Corporation announced that PENA would produce lithium-ion batteries at Tesla’s Gigafactory 1 in Sparks, Nevada. As Gigafactory 1 operations continue, PENA intends to take advantage of Reno’s location to expand local engineering capacity and talent acquisition and development, thereby strengthening its position in the vehicle market. electric.
