A fire broke out on Sunday afternoon on the fourth floor of a building near Balewadi phata, in Baner.

The office of a software company, Plural Technology, was damaged by the fire.

Shivaji Memane, Station Officer, Pashan Division, said, “It’s a 4,000 square foot property and half of the office has been emptied. The sunroof, furniture, computers, cables, chairs and a table were completely damaged. When we arrived there, there was no one inside and the shutter was lowered. We were informed late and the fire had spread by the time we reached the scene. “

According to Memane, no casualties have been reported. It took officials at least half an hour to put out the blaze.

“The smoke which escaped from the incident set off the alarm in the area. As the fire spread, the overhead cables produced a lot of smoke, which posed a major problem for us. We had to put on oxygen masks to enter the office. The ground also had zero visibility due to the smoke, ”added Memane.

Two officers and nine staff as well as two engines and a tanker were involved in the operation, Memane said.
